The ongoing CORD demos against IEBC are a tactic by the opposition to thwart Deputy President William Ruto’s prospects of becoming President in 2022, a section of elders from Nakuru have claimed.
The Nakuru Council of Elders through their chairman Gilbert Kabage accused CORD leader Raila Odinga of initiating an unjustified anti- IEBC war.
Speaking Friday in Nakuru town, Kabage said that Raila, Moses Wetang’ula and Kalonzo Musyoka have hatched a campaign aimed at discrediting Ruto before the 2022 polls.
“We know that all these protests are just part of a scheme being hatched by Raila to discredit Ruto before the 2022 polls because they don’t want him to become President,” said Kabage.
“They all have one agenda of doing everything possible to ensure that Ruto never becomes President of this nation but we are telling them that all their plans will fail miserably,” he added.
Kabage further reiterated that the Mount Kenya region and the Rift Valley region will fully rally behind Ruto in 2022 to ensure that he succeeds President Kenyatta.
