Kenya: Nyeri MP Delivers Baby Boy After 17 Years Of Waiting

Nyeri Women Representative Priscilla Nyokabi has delivered a baby boy named Kiiru after 17 years since she gave birth to her first child.

Nyokabi announced the good news on her Facebook page which attracted tons of congratulatory messages mostly from local residents.

“I thank God for the blessing of a baby boy named Kiiru after my father-in-law. Mum and baby are recovering well. I’m happy to be a mum again after 17 years,” she posted.

Her first born daughter is already in Form Four.

“It’s a whole new experience all over again, happy and thanking God over and over… The whole family is very happy,” she added.

Nyokabi, 37, is serving her first term in Parliament having being elected on a TNA party ticket.

After elections, Nyokabi was on the receiving end of accusations that she ‘fixed’ President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto at the ICC while working as the executive director of Kituo Cha Sheria, an NGO.

She later denied having any direct engagements with the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutions office.

“I have never met either Luis Moreno-Ocampo (former ICC prosecutor) or his successor, Fatou Bensouda.

Kituo cha Sheria only got involved in victims’ identification during the Operation Rudi Nyumbani programmes that were spearheaded by the Grand Coalition Government,” Nyokabi said in defence.
