President Uhuru Kenyatta has recalled Kamba leaders to State House for further talks after the failed visit by the President to the region.

The President skipped an earlier planned trip to Kitui, Makueni and Machakos last week because of other commitments.

However, in the spirit of showing his deep admiration for the community, the President recalled the leaders Wednesday where he asked them to join the Jubilee Coalition.

“The President was equivocal that the Jubilee government can have a strong relationship with the Kamba people,” a source close to the meeting told News24.

It is understood that the Kamba leaders are keen to move on from the CORD coalition which they have been a part of the last 5 years.

They are keen to ditch the Wiper Coalition of former VP Kalonzo Musyoka which they say is lacking in direction.

The president will visit the region in June.
