Gichugu MP Njogu Barua has lashed out CORD leader Raila Odinga telling him to respect constitutional institutions and those who head them.

Barua wondered why Raila declined an invite by Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich over the Euro Bond saga and belittled him as a junior minister.

At the time, Raila said having been a Prime Minister there was no way he could talk to a junior minister like Rotich.

“We are now surprised that Raila wants to meet the Central Bank Governor Patrick Njororge, who answers to Rotich over the same issue and we are reading a sinister motive,” Barua said.

Speaking at Kianyaga Youth Empowerment Centre in his constituency, the legislator urged the opposition leader to shun double speak.

“Why on earth did Raila snub a meeting with the CS, only to make an about-turn and demand to be given a briefing on Euro Bond by a junior in the name of the Central Bank governor?” posed the first-term MP.
