One of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s political advisers has declared interest in the Nyeri Town parliamentary seat.
Patrick Ngatia alias Director said he will contest for the seat which is currently held by Esther Murugi.
He also works in the President’s Private office at State House as Director of Liaison.
He said it is time for him to battle out for an elective seat after having successfully campaigned for former President Mwai Kibaki in 2002 and 2007 campaigns.
He also campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2012 as the leader of Team Uhuru.
Ngatia, who currently also serves in NEMA board of management, joins three other aspirants for the seat.
Businesswoman Lucy Wanjiru, Political analyst Ngunjiri Wambugu and former Governor Nderitu Gachagua’s political adviser, Duncan Maina Mathenge have also declared their bids.
Ngatia has studied Bachelor of Science in Botany and Zoology and Master of Arts in Environmental Planning and Management, both at the University of Nairobi.
He has a certificate in leadership studies from Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) in Germany and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
He said he wants to bring transformation in local politics, economy and social life.
