Nigeria: Jonathan’s Cousin Held Over $40M Pipeline Scam – Report

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested former president Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Azibaola Robert, Punch reports.

Robert, who is the managing director of Katakar Civil Engineering Company, was arrested together with an executive director of the company, Dakoru Atukpa, over a $40m pipeline contract.

The contract, it was reported, was awarded by the office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Colonel Sambo Dasuki (retired).

Robert has, however, dismissed his arrest as a witch-hunt.

He insisted the contract was transparent.
