Former Secretary to the Cabinet, Francis Kimemia has landed a government job following his appointment as the chairman of the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC).
Kimemia stepped aside in April 2015 after featuring in the Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) list that implicated him with misappropriation of KES 1 billion in 2006 during his tenure as the Interior Security Ministry Permanent Secretary.
According to Daily Nation, his former position is still vacant.
He replaces Martin Kariuki Muragu who had been appointed to the position by the former President, Mwai Kibaki in 2009.
Businessman Chris Kirubi, Henry Kosgey Retired Major General Hussein Ali were also appointed as non-executive chair of the Brand Kenya Board (BKB), Tourism Fund chair and NGO Coordination Board chair respectively.
Other appointments made in the gazette notice dated March 17 include:
• Millicent Ogutu to the Kenya Copyright Board
• Jas Bedi to the Export Promotion Council
• Simon Kitambaa to the National Council for Population and Development,
• Rehema Jaldesa, to the Kenya Industrial Estates
• Mark Bor to be non-executive chairperson of the Kenyatta National Hospital
• Joshua Nyamweya Oigara to the the Energy Regulatory Commission
• Jackson Selela Ole Mwanik to the Ewaso Ngiro South Development Authority
• Paul Tergat to the Kenya Academy of Sports Council
• Francis Baya to the Kenya Literature Bureau
• Jimmy Kariuki to the Kenya Tourism Board
• Francis Kuria Gatonye to the Pest Control Products Board
• Betty Addero Radier to the Board of Tourism Research Institute
