Police in Naivasha are holding a woman who killed her baby minutes after birth.
Her neighbor who helped her commit the heinous act was also arrested.
The two allegedly strangled the newborn using a piece of cloth that they claimed was being used to pull the baby from the womb after getting stuck.
According to Standard, the mother of two said she was not ready for another child.
Such incidents are rare in the country, as most women opt to terminate unwanted pregnancies before reaching full term.
Statistics indicate that over 460,000 abortions are procured annually, with most of them being conducted in backstreet clinics.
Majority of those who terminate pregnancies do so in the second trimester, according to reports.
