Abuja – The Bauchi State government has actually reported the stunning discovery of over 6,000 ghost workers being paid from its pay-roll.
According to a Naij report, State Governor Mohammed Abubakar made the news public in an interactive session in which he disclosed that the discovery was made during a verification process conducted by the local Government.
Abubakar has stated that Government is set to embark on a second round of workers’ verification, with the ultimate goal being for the State to enter the Federal Government’s budget support programme, Punch reports.
“So, verification is the policy of the Federal Government of Nigeria and it is also the policy of the Bauchi State Government, but I said we in Bauchi are going to do it differently,” Abubakar said.
