Polokwane – One person was killed and 13 others injured in a series of collisions in and around Tzaneen in Limpopo on Friday night, paramedics said.ER24’s Pieter Rossouw said there were three accidents that occurred within a few hours of one another.“ER24 paramedics attended to all three scenes and treated several patients.”
The first accident happened on the R528 just outside Tzaneen.
“Three people sustained minor injuries and one person was killed in the collision.
“Paramedics provided advanced life support to one patient, but unfortunately the patient had already succumbed to her injuries,” said Rossouw.
The next incident occurred on Mamitwa Road and left four people injured.
All four were taken to Letaba Hospital for further treatment.
The last collision was on Wolkberg Road and a total of six people were left with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
Four people were taken to Mediclinic Tzaneen for further treatment. The other patients were transported by other services to the same hospital.
The cause of all three collisions is unknown but local authorities were on the scene to investigate.
