Zambia: Masumba Eyes Presidency

A Zambia member of parliament from the Mufumwe, province Stephen Masumba said he harbors ambitions to be one day Republican President.

Masumba who has previously served in some deputy ministerial positions lost the August 11 elections to the opposition UPND’s Elliot Kamondo.

He said the outcome of the parliamentary elections in the North Western Province where the UPND swept most of the seats was suspicious.

“If I shuffle my cards right I know I can make it as President. I have served MP before, served as minister so why not dream of going a step further.”

He noted that the results in the north-western province were shocking as they did not reflect the will of the people.
Masumba has petitioned the outcome of the Mafumbwe seat.
