Yoweri Museveni A ‘Blessing’ To Uganda, Wife Says In Birthday Message

Ugandan First lady Janet Museveni has hailed her husband as a “blessing” to the east African country, Daily Monitor reports.

President Yoweri Museveni’s wife, who is also the minister of education said this in a birthday message on social media.

Museveni turned 72 on Thursday.

Museveni, who has been in power since 1986, is serving his fifth and final term as president. Uganda’s constitution prevents anyone above the age of 75 to contest for the presidency.

The veteran leader will turn 75 in two years time.

Happy Birthday @KagutaMuseveni.Thank you for being the man and the blessing you have been to our family and nation.

Reports indicated, however, that efforts were under way in Uganda to remove the age limit on the presidency so that the long-time leader could run again. Museveni, who took power by force in 1986, was re-elected in a disputed election in February.
