WATCH: Jennifer Hudson Shocks Couple By Crashing Their Wedding Reception For Surprise Performance

Jennifer Hudson, the star of The Jennifer Hudson Show, surprised a couple at their wedding with a stunning rendition of “Giving Myself,” her 2008 hit.

The singer and actress posted a video of herself surprising Traci and Pat Jean-Baptiste during their opulent Los Angeles wedding.

“We are here today at Traci and Pat’s wedding reception. I’m here to surprise them. They have no idea that I am here,” Hudson said. “I got this huge performance plan for them. The mama don’t even know, the family don’t know. Don’t nobody know nothing!” Hudson told viewers at the start of the video, according to People.

Hudson is told in the clip that the couple is snapping pictures on the roof, which helps the crew prepare for the big surprise. They also relocated the visitors from the room to a different part of the building. The couple was taken aback when they discovered the reception hall was empty.
“Where’s everybody?” the groom said as the bride gasped, “What in the world?”

The two then proceeded to find their guests in a floral, purple-lit corridor, as Hudson stood onstage, hidden behind a white curtain. The curtain dropped as soon as the couple made their way to the front of the room, leaving everyone surprised as Hudson stepped behind the microphone.

“Congratulations, Tracy and Pat!” Hudson exclaimed as the couple screamed along with their friends and family. “And to all of y’all, this is for you!”

The star singer instantly began performing “Giving Myself,” accompanied by a band of singers, a drummer, a pianist, and a guitarist. Hudson arranged her faux locs strands to the side and wore an amazing rose-red off-the-shoulder gown with a thigh-slit.

According to Madame Noire, Hudson brought the pair to The Jennifer Hudson Show on Monday and gave them a framed portrait of the couple from their wedding, stating, “Now you’re going to put me up on your wall.” It will complement your family photos.”

The celebrity also gave the couple a OneKeyCash card from Expedia, which was loaded with enough money for the newlyweds to plan their dream honeymoon.

Fans and well-wishers congratulated her on her gesture. According to EW, Hudson’s program was supposed to return last month but was delayed owing to the writers’ strike, which ended last week.
