A mob of Apostolic Church members ambushed two individuals who threatened a popular Harare cleric, Madzibaba Moses, with a weapon in Warren Park, Harare, Zimbabwe, recently.
According to ZimLive, Madzibaba Moses, actual name Lloyd Gwasira, was at Warren Park at the time of the tragedy, performing door-to-door services for faithful church members. Because of his popularity in Harare, he frequently walks with a bodyguard squad of other apostolic church members.
While he was moving around, two former church members approached him, carrying a handgun and aiming it at him in a brazen display of force. After leaving Madzibaba Moses’ popular church in Highfields, the two men accused him of being bitter and of witchcraft.
Before the enraged former church members fired their weapons, roughly five of Madzibaba Moses’ bodyguards pounced on them and began punching them.
A bystander even attempted in vain to break up the one-sided battle. The second man attempted to flee but was brought back by church members who continued to beat them. As the drama played out, Madzibaba Moses stood back, letting his disciples fight a “holy battle” for him.
The two males have been arrested and accused with pointing a firearm by Zimbabwe Republic Police.
