Video: Donald Trump Views Solar Eclipse From White House Balcony Alongside Melania & Barron!

Mr Trump, First Lady Melania and their son Barron stood together on the White House balcony trying to see the moment when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth will be perfectly aligned for the first time in 99 years.

Wearing protective glasses, the couple chatted as they joined millions of Americans who also hoped to catch a glimpse of the rare spectacle.

At one point, the President even tried to take a peek at the eclipse without the glasses on, which can be extremely harmful to a person’s eyesight.

Stunning images are already emerging on social media and the reaction suggests it did not disappoint.

After weeks of anticipation and excitement, viewers were treated to a once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon when the moon moved directly in front of the Sun for just a couple of minutes.

The spectacle, which lasted around two minutes for most Americans, caused near darkness and temperatures plummeted for a brief period.

The eclipse’s 70-mile path of totality stretches across Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and South Carolina.
