Demi Lovato’s road to recovery and sobriety will include extensive treatment over a period of several months.
The 25-year-old was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles earlier this month, after an apparent overdose, and went straight to rehab to begin treatment.
Sources close to the singer told E! News that Demi “will be in rehab for several months and is doing an extensive program to ensure she gets the help she needs.”
This come after Demi temporarily checked out of her in-patient facility to seek additional treatment in Chicago, People magazine reported.
According to TMZ, Demi spent the weekend in Chicago to see a psychiatrist who specializes in mental health, sobriety and overall wellness.
In a statement on Instagram, Demi broke her silence vowing to keep fighting and to seek the help she needs.
