Two Ghanaian Nurses Fired For Ignoring Patients And Going Live On Facebook During Work Hours

Two Ghanaian nurses, who has been identified only “Tracy Ewurama” and “Ramatu” are reportedly on the chopping board after going live on Facebook whiles at work.

According to reports, the video of nurses going live on Facebook went viral after Ghanaian news publication, Adom FM, shared the video on their own Facebook page.

Consequently, the management of the Royal MMR Hospital, where the two nurses worked, were shocked and appalled by the fact the two nurses “chose to do Facebook Live while at work and responded to comments at the expense of patients awaiting to seek health care”.

The two nurses were reportedly sanctioned and some unconfirmed reports stated that they had been sacked from their workplace.

A doctor with the hospital, Dr. Mohammed Donkor, however, confirmed to Adom News that the two had been fired by the management of the hospital as their conduct was in breach of company regulations.

Trudy and Ramatu were reportedly employed as health assistants at the health facility and had pre-knowledge that their their conduct was against hospital rules.

Meanwhile, a video of one of the nurses, Trudy with her boyfriend, Dahlin Gage, a Ghanaian musician has also surfaced.

In the video, the two are seen visibly enjoying enjoying each other’s company as Dahlin Gage is seen aggressively massaging the breast of his girlfriend in the video.

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has lended a voice to the saga saying that the conduct of the two nurses were completely against the conduct allowed in the nursing profession.

According to them, investigations have stated and the two nurses might be removed from the nursing association if found to be guilty. The PRO of the GRNMA, Douglas Adu Fokuo, revealed that the association might offer them psychological care.

Meanwhile, a section of Ghanaians have commisserated with the two nurses saying that nurses ought to be able to have a private life as others have agreed that their conduct was flouting the integrity of the nursing profession.
