Tension In APC Over President Buhari’s Cancelled Lagos Trip.

There palpable tension in the All Progressives Congress following  President Muhammadu Buhari;s decision to cancel his two- day visit to Lagos, reports NewsDay.

Buhari’s official visit would have been the first by any civilian leader since Olusegun Obasanjo visited in 2002.

Although, the President was represented in Lagos by the Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo , there are speculations that the cancellation may be politically motivated.

The suspension of the trip came as a shock to officials of the Lagos State government and leaders of the APC in the state, who were looking forward to hosting the nation’s number one citizen.

First, reports indicated that the President cancelled the visit owing to health challenge but this was countered by his  spokesman, Garba Shehu, who said his boss cancelled the trip due to scheduling difficulties.

Daily Post reports that the visit was canceled because Buhari was angry with the National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu .

Tinubu had met with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) over the recent fuel hike without due clearance from the presidency.

Evidence that  Buhari was not happy with Tinubu was reinforced when the President hosted Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State at the Presidential Villa on Monday.

It is believed that Buhari decided to host Amosun to spite Tinubu.
