Seasoned journalist Karima Brown and Phelmelo Motene will reportedly be leaving talk radio station 702.
According to a statement released on Monday by the station’s the changes are “part of the station’s ongoing commitment to providing its audience with informative content”.
Station manager Thabisile Mbete in the statement thanked Brown and Motene for their contributions.
“We would like to thank Karima and Phemelo for their positive contribution to the station. 702 wishes the two broadcast powerhouses well as they both move forward with various projects.”
Brown joined the station in 2017 as part of the stations plan to ” “beef up on specialised political coverage”.
According to The Citizen, Brown has been off the air for weeks with Aubrey Masango standing for her.
Masango will be replacing Brown and hosting “freshly formatted evening show”. The show will be from 20:00 to 00:00 weeknights.
