South Africa: Don’t RIP Me Yet, I’m Alive”- DJ Black Coffee Reacts To Recent Rumours About His Death

Black Coffee

Not like it’s the first time, but Facebook users recently killed South African record producer and DJ, DJ Black Coffee.

Though the cause of his alleged death was not specified a lot of RIP messages were making the rounds on the social media platform after some users apparently misunderstood a joke.

Subsequently, the news reached Nkosinathi ‘Black Coffee’ Maphumulo’s ears and he deemed it fit to address the issue.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday night, Black Coffee wrote that he’s still breathing: “Dear Black Facebook……Don’t RIP me yet…….I’M ALIVE.”

His fans quickly reacted:

“I wanna get on black Facebook”

“For true fans like me, you’ll never RIP even when you’re gone. You’re immortal and your music will continue to make change in our lives.”

“Humour in this country of Baba Duduzane has reached irrational climax.”

“Long live the king of house music.”

“Those that use both Facebook and Twitter must be ambassadors for true and timely transfer of info though. Facebook is a mess… I gave up.”

“Haters just relax @RealBlackCoffee is still alive and doing well. #GodsFavourite.”

“The stupidity the exists ko Facebook… I’m sure #RIPBlackCoffee was because someone poured milk into their coffee.”

Evidently, the joke started way back on Facebook when people posted that black coffee was dead as they had bought milk. This went on for some time and it seems some people started taking the joke seriously. Thus, they ran with the story that the DJ was really dead. But, we are glad he’s not.

Notably, this is not the first time Black Coffee is falling victim to fake death news mongers. Last year, a fake website published a report claiming the internationally-acclaimed DJ had been found dead in a hotel room in Spain. It got even worst when a fan “confirmed” the news on Facebook.

While celebrities are prone to such fake news, fans should be wary of what they believe based on stories they read online.
