American singer, Usher Raymond, has been named the headlining performer for the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime show.
Usher made the announcement via his X handle, formerly called Twitter on Sunday.
“It’s an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before.
“Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon,” Usher tweeted
The performance will mark Usher’s second feature on the show.
He earlier performed with popular music band, Black Eyes Peas, in 2011.
In addition, the National Football League announced in a statement that the artist will lead the performance, which is sponsored by Apple Music.
Roc Nation, the record company, will also produce the performance for the fifth year in a row. Jay Z, the label’s owner, voiced great expectations for the impending concert.
He also said in the statement, “Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he’s been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul. His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic.”
The highly anticipated event is set to take place on February 11, 2024 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Rihanna headlined the 2023 edition of the concert, breaking the Internet after announcing her second pregnancy mid-performance.
