Shocking! Another Person Killed In Rongai During Demos In Kenya (Photos)

Thursday Morning was a painful and sorrow day to the family of a man A man was reportedly hit by a speeding bus as residents in the area were preparing to take to the streets protesting against the killings on Mbagathi and Lang’ata roads by rogue matatus plying the route.

The man is said to have been knocked down outside Tumaini Supermarket with the driver fleeing the scene. According to witnesses the vehicle was of a school in the area.

Heavy traffic was experienced on Mbagathi road as the locals marched towards Lang’ata road where the tragic Sunday accident, which claimed four lives, occurred.

In a show of unity and solidarity for those who lost their lives, the residents carried placards inscribed with the words: ‘Enough is Enough!! Restore PSV sanity. We are people, we’ve got the power’.

According to the demo’s plan, the locals would arrive at the accident scene where a one-minute moment of silence will be observed in honour of the dead. The group will then hold prayers and read the word of God.

The protesters will also lay flowers and light candles before the speeches are made.

On Sunday, four people lost their lives after a bus under the Ongata Line Company Limited was involved in a deadly accident near Lang’ata Police Station.

It emerged that the vehicle, which was ferrying passengers from Rongai to the City Centre, was not authorised to be in operation.

According to witnesses, the bus was at high speed and trying to avoid hitting another vehicle when it veered off the road.
