Oba Adeyẹ́yẹ̀ Ẹnitan Ògúnwusi, the Ooni of Ife has announced the arrival of his son and possible heir to the ancestral throne of Oduduwa.
The news confirmed via Ooni’s Instagram handle, revealed Queen Silekunola birthed the Prince today, November 18, 2020. The statement reads:
“To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty”.
The Imperial ruler tied the knot with Olori Prophetess Silekunola Naomi back in October 2018. The marriage between the Yoruba Monarch and the Christian prophetess made headlines largely for the difference in faith.
In June, fresh reports began to make the rounds that the royal couple was headed for a divorce. However, Olori Silekunola dispelled the rumors in an Instagram post where she warned rumor mongers to desist from spreading such hurtful lies.
The Prince will be Ooni Ogunwusi’s second child as he has an adult daughter from his first marriage which hit the rocks before he ascended the throne of Oduduwa.
