Is CORD leader Rail Odinga looking for a new running mate? It seems he is.
The CORD leader has been considering his options in recent weeks as he prepares for a final assault on the Presidency come the 2017 General Elections.
Among his latest feelings is on whether to keep Kalonzo as his running mate for the upcoming polls after becoming increasingly agitated by the dwindling contribution to the CORD Coalition of the Wiper Party leader.
According to insiders, the lack of serious input from Kalonzo’s team during the Okoa Kenya referendum launch has left Raila unhappy and considering his options.
” The coalition leader is considering his options. It is not written in stone that it will be Kalonzo,” the source stated.
Kalonzo has in recent times faced serious competition in his Ukambani backyard and it seems it is not certain that he is the undisputed leader in the region.
” Kalonzo’s problems are well known,” the source added.
Kalonzo is also said to be unhappy that an earlier agreed on memorandum of understanding between he and Raila in the run up to the 2013 General Elections has been discarded. He was set to be the front-man for the coalition in the 2017 polls, according to reports but Raila has brushed it aside.
