CORD leader Raila Odinga is expected at the Coast at the weekend to grace a bursary disbursement function organized by Mombasa County government.
The CORD Leader will join the ODM Coast brigade at the Jomo Kenyatta grounds famously known as ‘Mkomani show ground’ where the function will be held on Saturday.
According to Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, the County government is planning to disburse over 100 million shillings to over 14 thousands needy students in secondary, colleges, tertiary institution and universities in the County.
Joho revealed that the CORD Leader has confirmed to grace the function which will definitely see some political fireworks from all the CORD Leaders who will be present.
The function is expected to be an anti- IEBC platform especially a after the opposition called off its Monday anti- IEBC demonstrations to pave way for dialogue though already both sides are playing hard stand on the dialogue issue.
The CORD brigade said it is only giving Jubilee government up to 5th June to hold a dialogue with other concerned parties or else after the set date, the every Monday anti- IEBC demos will be on.
“We have not cancelled our calls, we are yet to get answers so if Jubilee will not give in on the dialogue issue, after 5th June, we will definitely get back to the streets” said Johnston Muthana, Machakos Senator.
However, Johnston Sakaja, Jubilee nominated Member of the national assembly told off CORD saying that the issue of dialogue should not be compressed with conditions and demands from CORD.
Already 12 envoys have appealed to both parties, the Jubilee and the opposition to hold talks about the electoral body so as to stop the bloody demonstrations in the Country.
