Prince Harry may still be trying to adjust to life in LA, but he hasn’t lost his sense of humour.
The Duke of Sussex made an appearance on BBC’s The One Show on Monday to talk about the efforts being made to support veterans as the people of the UK celebrated VE Day – Victory in Europe Day, which marks the formal acceptance by the Allies of World War II of Nazi Germany’s surrender of its armed forces – on 8 May.
“Those individuals who signed up, chose to serve, then had life-changing injuries, they didn’t stop there and that’s why it’s impressive, but yet, at the same time, so incredibly uplifting,” Harry said, during a video chat.

Though the special broadcast was inspiring, for the most part, Prince Harry also let out a rather naughty comment, reports People, while in conversation with Maggie Wilson – the widow of airman Sandy Saunders, who’d suffered from severe burns to his face after he crashed his plane during the war.
She shared the story of how Archibald McIndoe, the pioneering reconstructive surgeon who attended to her husband, told the injured vet at the time: “‘You need new upper eyelids, new lower eyelids. You need a proper nose, I’ll give you a mouth so you can kiss the girls!'”
A cheeky Harry said: “That’s unbelievable. So when you met him, can I ask, he had a proper nose and good lips for kissing?”
“Oh, definitely good lips for kissing,” she answered.
Harry laughed: “I love that.”
The Duke of Sussex would have been in the Netherlands this week for the Invictus Games – the contest he founded for injured and recovering veterans, which is close to his heart, having served in the military – but it was postponed to next year amid the coronavirus crisis.
Harry shared a video message from his new home in Los Angeles over the weekend though, to commemorate the games.
