Police Raid University Of Nairobi Hostels Over Drug Crackdown

An eight-hour police raid on Saturday at the University of Nairobi hostels had authorities recovering 25kg of bhang, police gear and bloodstained knives.

According to The Star police found balaclavas, police boots, nine pangas and money making machines.

This came after a tip-off that Hall Nine of the university was home to criminal activities.

Meanwhile the police were in the hot seat last week after a  video emerged, showing Kenyan police officers beating students of the University of Nairobi (UoN) for demonstrating over “election malpractices” at the institution.

The students were protesting the re-election of Babu Owino as the Students’ Union chair, saying that he had rigged his way into office.
