Some 18 foreigners believed to of Ethipia nationals have been arrested at a roadblock on the Marsabit –Isiolo highway.
The police who were manning a roadblock also arrested a driver and a loader of a lorry the immigrants were travelling in.
Deputy County Commissioner, Joseph Nyangwara said the government was committed to ending the menace of illegal migration.
Nyangwara said the issue of illegal entry by foreigners has to be eliminated because it posed a security threat.
He cautioned motorists against aiding in human trafficking saying those found culpable will be heavily punished in accordance with the law.
He asked foreigners intending to enter the country to use laid down procedures adding that Kenyan immigration regulations were friendly and accommodating.
The illegal immigrants were destined for Nairobi when the lorry that was also carrying beans was intercepted.
The driver who were taken to Isiolo police station together with the aliens are expected to be arraigned in court over the offence.
The arrest comes barely three days after three police officers from Sololo were arrested in connection with illegal entry and transporting of foreigners from Ethiopia to Nairobi.
