The Senate was on Thursday shutdown for one week.
This is to allow senators from the Peoples Democratic Party participate in the party’s congress in their respective states.
During Thursday’s plenary, only six PDP senators were present.
The absence of the PDP senators forced Senate President, Bukola Saraki to adjourned sitting till next Thursday
