There was panic at a primary school in Nairobi after two Rhinos were found grazing in the school premises.
The Rhinos are said to have wandered from the nearby Nairobi National Park and were spotted by night guards grazing near the dormitories at around 4 am Thursday morning.
The guards immediately informed the area chief who called KWS officers.
” It was shocking to find them there but they were not harming anyone and this area is very close to the Nairobi National Park,” KWS officer in-charge at the scene Samuel Njoroge told News24 on phone.
The incident occurred a day after a stray buffalo caused anxiety in an estate in Kitengela after it strayed out of the park Tuesday night.
” There is no fence on this side of the park so the animals can easily wander away,” the KWS official added.
In recent times, incidences of lions straying out of the park have been noted, with officers blaming the nearby satellite towns such as Kitengela for the encroachment close to the park.
