Over 5.6 Million People In Morocco Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19

The number of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 reached 5,640,992 on Tuesday in Morocco, the Moroccan Ministry of Health said in a statement.

So far, a total of 8,772,982 first doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in Morocco, the statement added.

The North African country launched a nationwide vaccination campaign on Jan. 28 after the arrival of the first shipment of China’s Sinopharm vaccines.

Meanwhile, Morocco’s COVID-19 tally rose to 519,610 as 394 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, and the number of recoveries increased by 403 to 507,528, the statement said.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Morocco rose to 9,154 with seven fatalities added during the last 24 hours, while 216 remained in intensive care units, it said.
