27 leaders of the opposition party and members of the civil society are still in detention at the Jean Ping ‘s campaign Headquarters in Gabon.
They are believed to be behind the recent riots that broke out in the country after Ali Bongo was declared winner of the August 27 elections.
Among the detainees are Zacharie Myboto, a former Minister in Omar Bongo’s governement, and former vice-president , Didjob Ding Duvungui.
According to Gabon’s electoral commission’s provisional results, President Ali Bongo Ondimba garnered 49.8 percent of the votes against Jean Ping’s 48.2 percent.
In Libreville,three died between Thursday and Friday , following clashes with the security forces according to AFP
