ODM will punish MPs who have been missing the ongoing IEBC protests in the country.
ODM chairman John Mbadi said the party was contemplating whipping its members who have always shunned the CORD weekly demonstrations to force out officials of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC from office.
He says that them missing is killing the chances of making serious change to the country’s electoral rules.
“I have the authority and powers to instil discipline against errant members and forge unity in the party,” he told News24 on phone.
He did not mention which members would be punished and stated simply.
” They know themselves “, he added.
According to Mbadi, the party needs its human resource in full during this vital time.
It is understood that some senior party members have not been taking part in the protests knowingly, with Secretary General Ababu Namwamba one of the names mostly mentioned.
