This is according to the White House who made the announcement on Monday. The statement said that President Obama is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings and attend a global entrepreneurship summit.

The July trip will be the fourth time the US president is travelling to Kenya. Previously he had gone to the East African nation in 1992 with his then fianceé Michelle then again in 2006 as a Senator. His first trip to Kenya was in 1987 in a bid to understand his fathers roots.

It is not clear whether Obama will visit family members during the course of the trip.
