NYS Fraud Case Taken To Anti-Graft Court

Nairobi – The case concerning the Sh791 million that was stolen from the National Youth Service (NYS) will be tried by the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Divisions, reports the Daily Nation.

Justice Msagha Mbogholi on Monday declared that the case will be heard before the High court.

The matter is to be heard on March 16.

“There is a new court established to deal with the issues of corruption and I cannot issue any further orders. I can only make an order that the matter be expedited,” said Justice Mbogholi.

The matter was reported by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) who wishes to repossess assets belonging to those who solicited funds from the NYS.

Those who have been implicated had their assets frozen which were suspected to have been bought using NYS money.
