The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has expressed shock over the abduction of a Channels Television correspondent in Owerri, Imo State.
Tope Kuteye according to reports, was abducted on Sunday from his residence in Owerri around 3am.
He was jolted from his sleep by the rampaging hoodlums, after they successfully scaled through the perimeter fence of his residence in Federal Housing Estate, Umuguma, and whisked away to an unknown destination by his captors.
The kidnappers have since made a ransom demand of N15 million for the release of the journalist.
Reacting to abduction, Governor Rochas Okorocha condemned the abduction, describing it as an act of mistaken identity.
