Embattled former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has released a statement disputing allegations of corruption against him, while claiming that he is “not a thief”.
According to Naij, Fani-Kayode is due to appear before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Later on today, with allegations pertaining to his role in a $115 million election bribe said to have been disbursed by former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The EFCC has claimed that Fani-Kayode to be the “chief beneficiary” of the slush funds after he allegedly received N840 million in bribe money.
Fani-Kayode has since defended himself, claiming that he stands on the “word of God” and that he will be vindicated of all charges.
“I am not a thief. I served in the Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organisation out of loyalty and not for profit. I worked hard and risked all during that assignment and I believe that we did an effective job.
“I have no apology for that and the fact that we lost an election does not mean that we should be dehumanised, humiliated, subjected to the most beastly lies or destroyed,” Fani-Kayode said in his statement.
fani-kayode is a crook.somebody in possession of stolen money telling us that he is not a thief.the basic law is that once a stolen money is found in your possession,there is a presumption that you a thief.the defence raised by this quack lawyer that the money was given to him as campaign director for jonathan is not tenable in law.the money given is part of govt money withdrawn from cbn, not pdp money.for him to say he needs not inquire about the source of this money is too irresponsible.another thief metuh gave the same reason,but it could not exonerate him.
