Nigerian Artiste, Timaya Nominated For Grammy Awards

Nigeria’s dancehall singer, Timaya has received a Grammy Award nomination.

Timaya is nominated for featuring alongside Stonebwoy, Chubb Rock, Stylo G, Bunji Garlin, Dre Zion & Jaheil on Jamaican group Morgan Heritage’s new album titled Avrekedabra. This Nomination is for the best reggae album category.

To compete in the same category is, Chronology by Chronixx, Lost In Paradise by Common Kings, Wash House Ting by J Boog and Stony Hill by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley.

If he wins the award, Timaya will be the first Nigerian to win a grammy award. In 2016, Wizkid and Kah-Lo were nominated for a Grammy but neither of them clinched the award.

The only other Nigerian nominated for the 2018 Grammy Awards is Nigerian American producer, Tunji Ige
