The Nigerian Army has placed its troops on high alert nationwide following intelligence showing arrangement made by Boko Haram to attack the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other sensitive areas across the country.
According to a Vanguard report, a credible source has allegedly revealed a plan being conducted by Boko Haram terrorists to bomb areas of high density such as schools, markets and religious buildings.
Included in the plans is attacks to take place at police stations and prison facilities to make sure jailbreaks take place so that new members may be recruited into the sect, International Business Times reports.
“In view of the above, I am directed to tell you of this imminent threat and respectfully ask that you take all necessary proactive measure to prevent Boko Haram terrorists from carrying out these heinous acts,” stated Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai.
