President Muhammadu Buhari has restated his commitment to rescuing the displaced children of Nigeria, despite their huge numbers.
According to a Naij report, Buhari has called for the collation of data on internally displaced children so that Government can work more efficiently to help some of the vulnerable citizens of Nigerian society.
“We have frightening indices of the number of people and the situation in the IDP camps across the country. And in spite of the government’s efforts and the hospitality of individuals and organizations, the situation needs better handling. A large segment of the IDPs are mostly women and children. Some of the children are orphaned and don’t know where they came from,” the President was quoted as saying.
Buhari has revealed plans to integrate the displaced youths within the Ministry of Agriculture and various other sectors, in a bid to help erase their memories of Boko Haram brutality.
