Nigeria: Presidency Is Not A Laughing Matter, President Buhari Tells Cabinet

President Muhammadu Buhari made startling statements on Tuesday evening, claiming that governing the country is no joke and that Nigeria is in need of prayers, Naij reports.

While speaking to members of his cabinet, Buhari stated that Nigeria has many hard challenges to face and that all prayers are needed in order to rectify the state of the nation.

In addition, the Statesman claimed that Ramadan offers leaders a chance to reflect upon themselves and be more conscious of their actions.

“Leading the people is not a joke. It means accepting responsibilities for good or wrong,” said Buhari.

The Nigerian leader also commended former President Yakubu Gowon on his tenure in office, praising him for embracing unity while urging militants and Biafra agitators to ruminate on the civil war between 1967 and 1970, Vanguardreports.

“We have to reflect on the historical antecedent to appreciate what is before us now and what we intend to leave for our children and our grandchildren,” Buhari stated.
