In Nigeria : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Protests Against President Buhari’s Attempt To Unseat Fayose

Abuja – Members of the Peoples Democratic Party took to the street in Ekiti State yesterday to object a supposed story by the Federal Government to unseat Governor Ayodele Fayose, Naij records.

The PDP members said that they would resist any attempts to remove Fayose from power with the last drop of their blood. Also condemning the attempted plot to hide under the pretext of an investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

PDP Chieftain, Adeola Ogunrinade said that the protest was staged to raise support and awareness of the attempted plot against Fayose.

“The people trooped out in the last election to vote for Governor Ayodele Fayose because he did well in his first coming. Although they truncated his tenure, we won’t allow that this time,” said Ogunrinade.

News24 Nigeria reported that a Federal High Court in Ado-Ekiti declined the request by Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose to de-freeze his account frozen by the EFCC.

Fayose’s bank accounts as well as that of his close allies have been frozen by the anti-graft agency with the governor openly reiterating that he was principally funded Zenith Bank.

The Governor is being charged with the gross mishandling of funds of the account of the Office of the National Security Advisor.
