Nigeria: Igbo Group Begs Federal Government Not To Kill Reverend King

Abuja – The Ndigbo Cultural Society of Nigeria (NCSN) has appealed against the death sentence passed on Reverend Chukwuemeka Ezeugo (aka Reverend King), the General Overseer of Christian Praying Assembly, urging the Federal Government not to make haste in carrying it out.

According to PM News, the leader of the group, Chief Udo Udeogaranya urged the President Muhammadu Buhari and his government to consider granting Ezeugo pardon, saying Nigeria had nothing to benefit from shedding blood.

The Supreme Court on Friday upheld the death sentence of Ezeugo that was earlier handed to him by the Lagos State High Court.

Ezeugo was arraigned on September 26, 2006 on a six-count charge of attempted murder and murder.
