Nigeria Expresses Commitment To WEF Agenda On Africa

 

 

In a message to the WEFA meeting holding in Cape Town, South Africa, Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, expressed confidence that the various thematic issues discussed during the sessions would go a long way in promoting functional socio-economic policies that will lead to “Re-imagining Africa’s Future” as a major player in the global economy.

“I am confident that given our resolve to prosecute a global development agenda that will promote and sustain growth, and inclusiveness, through the creation of employment opportunities for our teaming youths, our Continent will indeed achieve open, just and prosperous societies,” the Vice President, who took the Oath of Office on May 29 said.

Professor Osinbajor further expressed his profound appreciation for the invitation extended to the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The three-day forum that started on Wednesday will end on Friday.

Focus at the forum was on infrastructure development, financing for the region, economic growth, entrepreneurship, safeguarding Africa’s democratic dividend, Africa’s mobile technology, data revolution and designing of smarter cities among others.
