The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested Donald Chidi Amamgbo, a cousin of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
The anti-graft agency said that Amamgbo, who is the CEO of three other oil companies, was a ‘front’ for the former minister.
It was learnt that detectives arrested Amamgbo around 4pm on Thursday.
His companies were said to have lifted crude oil worth billions of dollars over a period of four years.
His house in the Wuse 2 area of Abuja was also searched by EFCC operatives, with some documents recovered.
This is coming barely a week after the husband of the former minister, Admiral Alison Madueke (retd) was invited by the EFCC.
