Nigeria: Enugu Killings, Militants Give Herdsmen 14 Days Ultimatum

A group of Niger agitators under the support of Concerned Militant Leaders (CML) has given Fulani herdsmen a 14 days ultimatum to leave the South-east and South-south states.

According to The Sun, the group said it would declare war on the herdsmen if they did not adhere to the warning.

The group made the statement following gruesome attacks on innocent people, particularly in the south-east.

At least 20 people were killed by the herdsmen in Ukpabi Nimbo, an agrarian community in Enugu State, on Monday last week.

Reports said that over 100 armed cattle rearers stormed the community, killing indiscriminately and razing buildings in the process.

“After two weeks, starting from today, Tuesday, May 3, we are going to search for Fulani herdsmen. Since Federal Government cannot tell us who they are up till now, we are going to look for them… The Fulani herdsmen have indirectly challenged us, asking us what can we do. But, we promise them that we will not allow them to go without taking revenge. It is an insult and we will give them back,” the spokesperson of the group was quoted as saying.
