Nigeria: EFCC Vacates Ex-Vice President Sambo’s Office

Abuja – Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have vacated  the office of former Vice President Namadi Sambo in Abuja, reports NewsDay.

The commission had on Saturday raided the office in connection with the ongoing probe of the arms deal fraud.

The EFCC operatives were said to have forced their way into the office and recovered various sensitive items, including an undisclosed amount of cash.

Source close to Sambo said the operatives were withdrawn from the office on Tuesday.

Workers in office now have access to the building.

Repair works on the broken doors and windows have also commenced.

It is not clear whether the former Vice President would be seeking redress in court against the siege and damage to his office.
