The Nigerian senior national group has enhanced since Gernot Rohr assumed control as the coach in August 2016, helping the group to a gain position in the World Cup qualifiers after beating Zambia and Algeria.
The road to Russia is not over yet, and here are five players that could make the group more grounded .
1. Samuel Adegbenro: Currently features as a winger for Viking FC of Norway, the 21-year-old has played a very important role for his club in the Tippeligaen.

2. Ubong Ekpai: Popularly called the ‘Brazil killer’ for his lone strike that helped Nigeria defeat and also cement supremacy over Brazil in a friendly in March 2016.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan to Slovan Liberec in the 1st League at Czech Republic from Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.
The former Akwa United player is very lively on the right flank, possessing top-notch skills also as a midfielder.

The 19-year-old plays for Liverpool making his debut in his side’s 6 – 1 trouncing of Watford. He is a player that could inject life into the Super Eagles midfield in the nearest future.
4. Stanley Amuzie: The defensive left-wing-back was part of the embattled Dream Team VI that claimed bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The 28-year-old plays for Italian side Sampdoria and will be a very good back-up for Elderson Echiejile.

Although the Nigerian team in their last three games has improved defensively, Stanley Amuzie is another lad that could give the team stability at the back.
5. Imoh Ezekiel: Currently an on-loan-striker at Anderlecht of Belgium from Al Arabi SC in Qatar. He already has an international cap for the national team.

He was outstanding for the Dream Team Vi at the Rio 2016 Olympic games where he combined well with Mikel Obi in the course of the tournament where Nigerian won bronze.He is also sharp and young; at 23, a bright future awaits him.
