Neither Uhuru Nor Raila Is Interested In Saving Kenya, Says MP

Former Rongai member of Parliament, Luka Kigen has said that neither President Uhuru Kenyatta nor CORD leader Raila Odinga is interested in saving the country.

Kigen said that both Uhuru and Raila are interested in protecting personal, family and ethnic interests at the expense of the nation and Kenyans at large.

He said that the ongoing battle over the removal of IEBC commissioners has been turned into a Raila-Uhuru and Luo-Kikuyu duel, something he said is hurting Kenya both politically and economically.

Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town, Kigen said that the two leaders do not have the interests of the nation at heart but are rather interested in fulfilling their selfish personal interests.

“The things we are witnessing in Kenya shouldn’t be happening at all but because we have politicians and not leaders, we will continue seeing them for many years to come unless we start electing leaders instead of politicians,” he said.

“Uhuru and Raila are not interested in putting the country back on track but all they are interested in is protecting personal and family interests,” he added.

“The two gentlemen have completely failed to offer true leadership to the country and Kenya is suffering because of them.”

Kigen added that Kenya’s politics will change the day the Odinga and Kenyatta families will exit the political scene.

“Kenya will only know what mature politics is the day we will stop seeing and hearing of the Odinga and Kenyatta family names because they have turned Kenyan politics into a duel between two families,” he said.
