The water supply starting on Monday will be interrupted starting at March 14 to March 19 announced the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company, reportsCitizen TV.
The decision is due to scheduled maintenance and rehabilitation works along the Sasumua-Kabete water transmission pipeline in the Aberdares forest in order to increase the water supply to the city.
Other areas that will be affected include estates along Waiyaki Way, Naivasha road, Kangemi, Lavington, Westlands, Parklands, MP Shah Hospital, Aga Khan Hospital and ILRI, Upper Hill, Kilimani, Nairobi Hospital, Kenyatta Hospital and Community.
The University of Nairobi main campus hall of residence, Upper and Lower Campuses, University of Nairobi and Kenyatta University Parklands law campuses will also be affected.
Others are estates around Kenyatta market, Kibera, Jamhuri, Ngando, Riruta Satellite, Dagoretti Corner, Kawangware, areas along Langata, Madaraka Estate, Mbagathi and Ngong Road and Karen.
Meanwhile in a separate article from Citizen TV residents of Isebania town in Migori County have expressed fear over a possible cholera outbreak due to poor sanitation in the town.
The town which lies on the border of Kenya and Tanzania is reported to be littered with uncollected garbage.
“Sometimes the garbage stays for more than two months without being collected. We are worried of a possible cholera outbreak in the region if relevant authorities fail to reinforce sanitation,” said a resident, Thomas Chacha.
